GratitudeFriendship
A friend held the room steady enough that I didn’t have to
Dear Delyara, I’m used to being the one who notices the emotional weather first, adjusts first, steadies first, makes things easier before tension becomes visible. This week, with one friend, I didn’t have to do that. She held the room. Not theatrically. Just enough that I could stop managing the atmosphere and simply exist inside it. That was more healing than anything wise she could have said. I think some friendships are defined by the emotional labor they quietly remove from your side of the table. This was one of those moments. And I’m grateful for it.
