A Nurse Was Softer Than Necessary

Dear Delyara, I had an appointment recently, and the nurse treating me was gentler than she needed to be. That is what I remember most. Not the room, not the procedure, not the practical outcome. Her gentleness. She noticed I was nervous and didn’t make it bigger. She slowed down slightly. Explained things without sounding rehearsed. Let me keep my dignity while being vulnerable. I have thought about her more than once since. There is such grace in professional kindness that remains human.
