A Small Kindness Found Me at the Right Moment

Dear Delyara, I was having a bad day without looking like I was having one. That’s important context. I was holding everything together on the outside, but privately I was one small thing away from tears. Then someone did something very simple. They slowed down for me. Spoke gently. Let me go first. Helped without making a spectacle of it. I don’t even know if they realized how much the timing mattered. But it did. Small kindnesses don’t stay small when they land in the right emotional place.
