A Teacher Spoke To My Child Kindly On A Hard Day

Dear Delyara, My child told me about it in the car. A difficult moment at school, one of those small but huge childhood humiliations that can turn an ordinary day into something sharp and lonely. And then, instead of more correction or embarrassment, a teacher knelt down, spoke softly, and handled it with care. By the time the story reached me, the moment had already passed. Still, I could feel how much it mattered. Because when a child is away from you, every kindness that reaches them in your absence feels like a mercy that extends all the way back to your own heart. It means the world was briefly gentler than your fear of it usually allows you to believe. I was grateful in a very deep way. Not because teachers are perfect. Because that one was kind at exactly the right time. And mothers live on those stories more than anyone knows.
