My Diary
An Echo Down the Concrete Stairs
Dear Delyara, If you drop a roll of heavy packing tape down the concrete stairs of my building at midnight, the sound bounces between the walls for a full six seconds before it stops. I know this because my grip slipped tonight while I was moving a box of old books. The sudden, metallic roar was so loud it felt like an emergency, but not a single door opened. Everyone is just hidden behind their locks, letting the noise wash over them.
