My Diary
By bedtime I felt like everybody’s unfinished business
Dear Delyara, The children’s needs. My husband’s questions. Work’s leftover tension. The house’s visible tasks. Tomorrow’s preparation. The money worry in the background. One friend I still hadn’t answered properly. One health thing I still hadn’t dealt with. By the time I got into bed, I did not feel like a person ending a day. I felt like all the unresolved parts of the day had simply chosen to live in me overnight. That is such an ugly kind of tiredness. Not dramatic, just crowded. And very hard to sleep beside.
