Certain tones still make me disappear inside

Dear Delyara, Not leave the room. Disappear inside. A voice that gets too sharp. A certain kind of sudden irritation. A room becoming emotionally unsafe faster than anyone else seems to notice. That is all it takes some days. Then I become very quiet, very careful, very composed on the outside while something inside me has already left the present and gone somewhere older. Trauma is difficult partly because it can make everyday life expensive in ways other people don’t see.
