Debt has made comfort feel morally suspicious

Dear Delyara, Even small comfort can feel charged when debt is part of the room. A warm meal out. A new thing that would make life easier. A taxi instead of a longer harder route. A small pleasure with no utility. It’s not the price alone. It’s the emotional atmosphere around it. The guilt, the caution, the sense that wanting anything non-essential makes you less serious, less disciplined, less worthy of stability later. I hate what that does to pleasure. It makes softness feel like a character flaw.
