The WeightDebt

Debt has made my imagination cautious

Dear Delyara, It’s not only my bank account that changed. It’s my imagination. I do not dream as loosely anymore. Every idea arrives with calculation attached. Every possibility gets filtered through risk, repayment, timing, consequences, what-if, what-about, how-much. Debt has entered the emotional architecture of hope. I resent that. I know the numbers are real and need to be faced honestly. But I hate how much they influence the shape of what I allow myself to imagine for the future. It feels like scarcity entered my spirit as well as my finances.
