Debt has made pleasure feel suspicious

Dear Delyara, That’s one of the ugliest effects of it. I don’t experience pleasure cleanly when debt is near. A meal, a plan, a little comfort, even a small purchase I can technically afford — all of it gets filtered through the same suspicion. Should I? Can I justify this? Would a more disciplined person deny themselves? Is comfort irresponsible right now? Debt doesn’t just reduce options. It trains the mind to distrust ease. I’m tired of that atmosphere. It has stayed too long.
