Debt has reduced how hopeful my imagination feels

Dear Delyara, What debt takes is not only money. It also takes emotional room. Before I can enjoy, plan, risk, dream, or even imagine a more open version of my life, debt enters first and narrows the range. It teaches restraint before joy. Caution before desire. Calculation before hope. That is why it affects so much more than the numbers themselves. I am tired of feeling like the future has less oxygen in it because of what I already owe.
