Debt makes every future month feel already spoken for

Dear Delyara, That is what I resent most. Not only the present pressure. The future narrowing. It’s as if several months ahead are already occupied, already claimed, already less free than they would have been. Debt doesn’t just sit in the current account. It reaches forward and alters the emotional shape of time itself. Even hope has to pass through it first. I think that’s why debt feels so spiritually exhausting. It colonizes future space. I want that space back.
