Small JoysQuiet Moments
Everyone was asleep and I ate toast standing in the kitchen in complete peace
Dear Delyara, Cheese on toast. Nothing special. But the house was still. No television. No voices. No one calling my name from another room. No schoolbag open on the floor. No deadline pressing on my chest. Just the quiet little crackle of bread and the light over the cooker. I think sometimes the happiest moments in adult life are not glamorous at all. They are simple moments with no emotional tax attached. A small private pleasure that no one interrupts and no one needs transformed into anything bigger. That toast tasted like relief.
