The StruggleStress
Everything feels manageable until I’m alone with it
Dear Delyara, That’s how stress tricks me. Each thing seems manageable while I’m dealing with it. One email, one conversation, one bill, one errand, one delay, one emotional demand. None of it individually seems dramatic enough to justify the way I feel by evening. But when I’m alone, I feel the accumulation. Then I realize the day was never light. It was only divided into small enough pieces to stay deniable. I think that’s what chronic stress often looks like — not one big event, but a thousand manageable things quietly flattening a person.
