Everything feels urgent and none of it feels important
Dear Delyara, That has been my whole week. Everything is urgent. Everything needs doing. Everything arrives with a tone that suggests if I don’t deal with it immediately, something bigger will go wrong. And yet, when I step back, very little of it feels meaningful. It is just maintenance. Admin. Emotional labor. Tidying other people’s chaos. Holding life together with invisible thread. That kind of stress makes me feel used up in a very modern way. I am not surviving a war. I am surviving too many tabs open in my mind at once. And because none of it sounds dramatic, it’s hard to explain why I feel so depleted by the end of the day. But small constant pressure can flatten a person just as effectively as one big crisis. I feel like I spend my whole life responding.
