Dear Delyara, That is what I resent most. Not only the present pressure. The narrowing ahead. It changes how the future feels long before the future arrives. Plans become calculations. Rest becomes conditional. Comfort becomes morally loaded. Even hope sounds more careful than it used to. That narrowing is such a private kind of sadness. And a very real one.
