For one evening I lived only the evening and not all the days around it
Dear Delyara, No future packing. No backward replay. No “tomorrow I must…” No “earlier I should have…” No carrying the rest of the week like extra furniture into a room that only had space for tonight. It was just dinner, a closed kitchen, a warm shower, one chapter of a book, and then sleep. That should sound very ordinary. To me, it felt almost like a spiritual event because of how rarely my mind stops at the edges of one day and allows it to remain itself. I don’t need a perfect life nearly as much as I need more evenings like that. Whole. Uncrowded. Unhunted. I’m grateful I had one.
