For one hour the future stayed outside
Dear Delyara, No tomorrow-loading. No practical rehearsal. No “must remember.” No low-level panic disguised as preparation. Just the hour itself. Tea, warm socks, one chair, dim light, and a mind that for once stayed where the body already was instead of running ahead to uniforms, bills, routes, email, children, timings, and everything else tomorrow thinks it owns. That kind of peace has become rare enough in my life that I notice it immediately when it arrives. It doesn’t look dramatic from the outside. But inside, it feels enormous. Because for that hour, I was not being chased by the next thing. I was simply there.
