He Noticed Before I Spoke
Dear Delyara, I didn’t have to explain my face. I didn’t have to translate the silence. I didn’t have to reach the point of tears before the room changed around me. He noticed first. And then he adjusted the evening in small practical ways that felt huge emotionally — less demand, less noise, fewer questions, more carrying without making me manage the carrying. That kind of love is more valuable to me now than anything dramatic. Because what I want most, some days, is not to be rescued. It’s to be read accurately before I collapse into explanation.
