He took over the evening before I became unkind
Dear Delyara, I was still functioning, still moving, still technically managing, but I could feel the edge coming. The point where too much noise and too many requests would turn my tone cold and make the children pay for a day they didn’t cause. He saw it and stepped in early. That is the kind of love I trust most now. Not dramatic rescue. Accurate intervention. He took the children upstairs, handled the bedtime, and left me alone in the kitchen with enough silence to become myself again before the damage was done. I am more grateful for that than I can say without sounding too emotional. And maybe I am too emotional. It still matters.
