My Diary
I almost filled the room with noise
Dear Delyara, The silence came. My hand went toward the phone. That reflex is so quick in me. As if quiet must be interrupted before it becomes honest enough to hurt. But tonight I gave the silence a few extra minutes, and what arrived wasn’t devastation. Just tenderness. Just tiredness. Just a more human truth than I had been allowing all day. It was manageable. More manageable than avoidance, actually.
