I am afraid I’ve confused coping with belonging

Dear Delyara, I’m starting to see how deep this goes. Not wants. Needs. Rest. Quiet. Slower timing. Softer light. Space from people. Less immediate access. The right to be hungry, tired, overwhelmed, touched out, emotionally full, and not turn that into a personal failure. And still, whenever I answer those needs, some part of me reacts as if I am being difficult or indulgent. It is as if my own humanity still feels like an inconvenience I owe someone an explanation for — even if that someone is only the harder voice inside me. I think that’s one of the saddest forms of self-betrayal. Not denying that I have needs, but denying that they deserve timely care.
