I am angrier than I allow myself to sound
Dear Delyara, That may be one of the truest things in me right now. Not loud anger. Polite anger. Contained anger. Domestic anger. The anger of being the one who remembers, softens, carries, notices, absorbs, and then still feels guilty for wanting ten minutes where nobody asks a thing of her. The anger of years spent being “understanding” in situations where what was actually required was self-respect. The anger of money pressure, emotional invisibility, tiredness, roles, silence, and small daily disrespect adding up. Because I do not let it out cleanly, it leaks sideways. Into my tone. Into my sleep. Into private hardness toward myself. Into overreactions to spoons and forms and slow replies from people who did not create the whole emotional burden they happened to meet me inside. The anger itself is not evil. The silence around it is what makes it dangerous.
