The SilenceSecrets
I am carrying truths I still don’t feel safe enough to say properly
Dear Delyara, Not because I’m unclear. Because I know the consequences of speech. There are things I know about my life, my marriage, my body, my tiredness, my resentment, my limits, my fear, the way I have changed. I know them more clearly in private than I admit in public. And still, there is a gap between knowing and saying that feels like a cliff some days. Because truth changes rooms. Because once certain things are spoken, people must either respond honestly or reveal how narrow their care really was all along. And because sometimes, if I’m honest, silence still feels safer than the disappointment of saying something real and having it land in the wrong hands. So I carry the truth instead. That carrying has a cost. I can feel it.
