I am more afraid of looking foolish than failing honestly

Dear Delyara, If I’m being completely honest, that is what gets me. Not failure itself. Exposure. Looking foolish. Looking naive. Looking like I wanted something visibly enough for other people to measure the gap between my hope and the outcome. That kind of vulnerability is what makes me hesitate. I can survive disappointment. What I still don’t trust is being seen in my earnestness.
