I am still paying for the wedding after the divorce

Dear Delyara, My marriage lasted fourteen months. The loan for the wedding has five years remaining. Every payment includes the hotel ballroom, flowers, photographer, and meal served to relatives who now avoid mentioning my ex-wife’s name. We borrowed because both families expected a celebration larger than our salaries. At the time, I believed debt was acceptable because the marriage would last longer than the repayment. Now £412 leaves my account each month for a day whose photographs are stored in a box I cannot open. My ex-wife pays nothing because the loan was in my name. She has moved in with someone else. I rent one room and work overtime. Yesterday, my cousin became engaged and asked for advice about venues. I told him to choose somewhere meaningful. What I wanted to say was: never finance the performance of permanence. The wedding guests ate, danced, and went home. I am the only person still paying for their chairs.
