I am tired of maintaining the edited version

Dear Delyara, There is a version of me that is easy for the world to hold. She is mostly true. Just edited. That is the exhausting part of secrecy. It isn’t always direct lying. It’s the long-term labor of omission. The way a hidden truth teaches you where to redirect, what to soften, what not to say, how to move around yourself so that other people never notice which room stays locked. I am tired of maintaining the edited version of my own life. It takes more energy than people think.
