I am tired of managing the edges of the truth

Dear Delyara, Keeping something hidden is not just about not saying it. It’s about all the little management around it. Which topics to avoid. Which versions of stories to tell. Which questions to redirect. Which rooms are emotionally safe. Which people can notice the pause in your voice and which ones can’t. It is exhausting to curate yourself this much. At some point secrecy stops being one hidden fact and becomes a way of being in the world.
