Other VictoriesOvercoming Fear
I answered the unknown number before fear got there first
Dear Delyara, Usually there is a whole private buildup — what is it, what did I forget, who wants something, what now, what if it’s bad. Then by the time I ring back or listen to the voicemail, I am already tired from possibilities that reality never asked for. This time I answered. It was ordinary. That’s not the point. The point is that fear did not get an afternoon with it first. For me, that counts as a win.
