I answered three people and still felt like I had left everyone slightly underfed

Dear Delyara, That’s one of the difficult things about being low on emotional energy. Even when you do respond, you can feel the thinness in it. The answer is there. The warmth is there. The real availability is not. One child wanted help with a project. My husband wanted to talk about money. A friend checked in kindly. I answered all three. And still, by bedtime, I felt that uncomfortable awareness that none of the exchanges received the fullest version of me. I don’t say that dramatically. Just sadly. Sometimes I have enough function for the interactions and not enough soul. That is a lonely way to finish a day.
