I applied for the role even though I still felt unready
Dear Delyara, I had been waiting to feel qualified in my bones. That feeling never came. What did come was another miserable day in the current job and the sudden clean understanding that if I waited to feel fearless, I might stay stuck long enough to mistake fear for wisdom forever. So I sat down that evening and finished the application. I doubted every sentence. I redrafted the statement three times. I nearly closed the laptop twice. Then I pressed submit. I don’t know the outcome yet. That is not the whole point. The victory is that I stopped protecting fantasy at the expense of motion. I let my life move into reality instead of only aching toward it privately. That matters to me more than I can explain.
