I ask for steadiness now more than signs

Dear Delyara, There was a time when what I wanted most from life or God or the universe was a sign — a clear answer, a guaranteed direction, a feeling of certainty before I had to trust anything. Now I ask for steadiness more often. Steadiness while waiting. Steadiness while not knowing. Steadiness while wanting. Steadiness while fear still exists. That feels less theatrical. And much more sustaining. I think faith, at least for me, is becoming quieter and more usable.
