I asked for enough softness not to become cynical

Dear Delyara, That is what I want most now. Not easy answers. Not perfect timing. Not a life without uncertainty or disappointment. Just enough softness to keep from becoming hard in ways that would make me less alive to my own life. Enough faith not to turn into bitterness. Enough inner tenderness to remain reachable, even after difficult weeks. That prayer feels truer than the grander ones sometimes.
