I asked for help before I reached the point where I could no longer hide it
Dear Delyara, That matters more to me than the appointment itself. For a long time I have had a bad habit of waiting until my body becomes dramatic enough to justify care. I minimise too soon, cope too long, and then turn up at the doctor already exhausted from carrying symptoms in secret while pretending they are still manageable. This time I went earlier. Not because I was brave. Because I was frightened by how normal I had made the problem sound in my own head. I said the fuller truth. The fatigue, the shortness of temper, the mental fuzziness, the strange distance I feel from myself by evening, the way everything has started costing more emotionally than it should. I left with a plan instead of more avoidance. That is a real victory in my life now. Not heroism. Interrupting the old pattern before it becomes another quiet form of self-neglect.
