I asked for help instead of pretending I could carry it alone
Dear Delyara, I’m very good at coping quietly, taking on extra, figuring things out, and only later realising I built resentment where I should have built honesty. This week I felt myself reaching that point and did something different. I said I needed help. Not in a dramatic way. Just clearly, early enough, and without wrapping it in apology. The work got shared, the world did not end, and I didn’t spend the rest of the week silently angry at everyone for not noticing I was drowning. That felt healthier than competence. And more mature too.
