I asked for help with the report instead of pretending I could absorb everything alone

Dear Delyara, That was growth for me. I am very used to over-functioning professionally. Taking more, holding more, fixing more, then privately resenting that I became the obvious person to hand extra weight to. This week I felt myself heading in that direction and did something different. I said, “I need help with this if it’s going to be done properly.” No collapse. No humiliation. Just a more honest distribution of labour. I want more of that in my working life.
