I asked for it in writing and didn’t apologise for needing clarity

Dear Delyara, I would compensate, infer, read between the lines, and then privately carry the stress of trying to do good work on vague instructions. This week, when someone said something important in that loose corridor way people often do, I simply asked for it in writing. No over-explaining. No apology. No “sorry, just so I’m clear…” Just clarity. It felt better in my body than the old way ever does. Less resentment later. More self-respect now.
