I asked for the details twice and didn’t feel bad about it
Dear Delyara, I would have taken the vague answer, tried to work around it, filled in the missing pieces myself, and then quietly suffered the stress of getting something wrong because I was too afraid of sounding difficult by asking again. This time I didn’t do that. I asked again. Clearly. Without apology. That may sound small, but for me it felt like self-respect in a professional sentence. Not because the question was brave. Because I did not abandon myself to protect the comfort of someone who had already been unclear. I want more of my working life to feel like that — less overcompensation, more clean honesty.
