I asked for the meeting

Dear Delyara, I have waited too long in life for people to notice my effort without being asked to notice it. This week, I didn’t wait. I wrote the message. Clear, direct, respectful. No apologising for needing a conversation. No shrinking the request into something more acceptable before it reached the other person. I asked. And even before I got a response, I felt taller inside myself. Because asking changed something in me. It reminded me that invisibility is not a virtue just because women are so often praised for it.
