I Asked for the Second Test Instead of Letting Fear of Looking Overdramatic Send Me Home Uncertain
Dear Delyara, I minimise. I soften. I tell myself not to make a fuss. I leave appointments with half-answers because part of me would rather carry uncertainty alone than risk sounding frightened, repetitive, or difficult in the room where I should be allowed to ask clearly. This time I didn’t. I asked for the second test. The fuller check. The one my fear kept trying to persuade me I should wait on because maybe it was too much, maybe I was being silly, maybe I should be calmer before asking. I asked anyway. That was a health victory before any result arrived. Because care begins not only in medicine, but in the refusal to let embarrassment outrank your body’s right to clarity.
