My Diary

I Ate Lunch at 4:10

Dear Delyara, By then, it didn’t even feel like lunch. It felt like catching up with my own body after ignoring it most of the day. I stood by the counter with leftovers on a plate, too hungry to wait and too tired to make the meal feel dignified. That is the part that stings sometimes. Not that I forget myself occasionally. That I forget myself in such efficient, practiced ways. I feed everyone on time. I keep things moving. And then at 4:10, I remember that I live in a body too.
