Dear Delyara, For a long time I admired naturally gifted people. Now I admire finishers. People who continue through boredom, doubt, emotional distraction, life interruptions, private difficulty, and imperfect confidence. People who do not need to feel brilliant every day in order to stay moving. I became more like that than I ever expected. That may be my real academic victory.
