The AwakeningSelf Love

I bought myself proper shoes instead of one more cheaper pair that would hurt later

Dear Delyara, I have spent years doing this thing where I save money in ways that quietly injure me. Cheap shoes that rub, cheap bras that don’t fit right, skipping things my body would actually benefit from because I’ve made comfort morally negotiable in myself. Last weekend I went into the shop, tried on the sturdy pair, looked at the price, felt the old internal resistance rise, and bought them anyway. Not recklessly. Responsibly. Because I am the person who will be standing in them all day. I think that mattered because it was more than a shopping decision. It was one of those tiny private moments where you either confirm your own worth or postpone it again. This time I didn’t postpone it.
