The AwakeningSelf Love
I Bought the Better One
Dear Delyara, The thing that supports more, lasts longer, hurts less, works properly, feels kinder on the body. The thing I would usually deny myself first because there are always louder needs in a family and I have become far too trained at making myself the easiest place to cut. This time, I didn’t. And standing at the till, I could feel how emotional such a small act had become. Because it was not only about the item. It was about self-permission. About refusing one more tiny act of self-neglect dressed as practicality. I’m learning that self-love is often incredibly unglamorous. Sometimes it is just choosing not to abandon yourself in the small ways you have normalised for years.
