The AwakeningSelf Love
I bought the better shampoo and didn’t apologise for it in my head
Dear Delyara, I still have this automatic habit of giving myself the lesser version of things by default. The cheaper one. The “good enough” one. The one I can tolerate instead of the one I actually want. As if practicality always has to mean I come last, or as if comfort becomes suspicious the minute it belongs to me. This time I chose differently. I picked up the one I wanted, put it in the basket, and didn’t stand there arguing with myself about whether I really deserved something that would make an ordinary part of my day feel better. That felt like progress. Not because of shampoo. Because of the absence of self-denial.
