The AwakeningSelf Love
I bought the coat I actually wanted
Dear Delyara, I stood there in the shop doing the usual thing. Looking at the cheaper one first. Telling myself it was practical. Telling myself I didn’t need the better fit, the warmer lining, the one that actually made me feel protected instead of just covered. Then something in me got tired of the pattern. I bought the one I really wanted. It wasn’t just a coat. It was a quiet refusal to keep giving myself the lower-grade version of comfort by default. I do that far too often — with clothes, with rest, with shoes, with food, with little daily things that shape how my body moves through life. Wearing the better coat home, I felt strangely emotional. I think self-love sometimes looks exactly like that. No speech. Just better protection.
