I bought the coat that actually keeps me warm
Dear Delyara, Not the cheaper one. Not the one that would “do.” The one I actually wanted. That felt bigger than a coat. Because I still have this old pattern of giving myself the lower-grade version of comfort by default. If it’s for the children, I justify it. If it’s for me, I become practical, restrained, sensible, willing to tolerate mild discomfort as though that proves something admirable about my character. This time I chose warmth properly. I walked out of the shop feeling slightly emotional over outerwear, which is absurd and also completely true.
