I bought the more comfortable bra and stopped calling discomfort practical

Dear Delyara, I am so used to tolerating low-level physical discomfort if it belongs to me. If my body is the one paying, I can suddenly become terribly sensible about “making do.” The old bra still technically worked. It just also made me quietly uncomfortable every time I wore it. This week I replaced it. Not because I became glamorous. Because I got tired of hearing myself speak to my own body like it should be grateful for irritation as long as it’s affordable. I don’t want practicality to keep being the language I use to excuse self-neglect.
