I Called the Doctor

Dear Delyara, Before it got worse. Before I felt “certain.” Before I had gathered enough evidence to defend the concern as if I were a lawyer trying to prove my own body deserves attention. I called. That is a health victory for me now. Not bravery in the dramatic sense. Earlier care. Care before denial turns into habit again. Care before fear convinces me that waiting is maturity when really it is just avoidance with better language. I am proud of myself for doing it while still scared.
