Other VictoriesOvercoming Fear
I called the school back instead of panicking first
Dear Delyara, Usually when the school number comes up, my body jumps before my mind does. What happened. Who’s ill. Who’s hurt. What did they forget. What did I forget. I can build a whole private catastrophe before I’ve even heard the actual reason for the call. This time I missed it, saw the number, and rang back almost immediately instead of letting fear have an hour with it. It was ordinary. Everything was fine. That may sound small, but for me, interrupting the panic-then-action pattern is real progress.
